OnDeck Australia has signed on as an official partner of the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final, Australia’s biggest motorsport finale.

The move aligns the lender’s “Lightning Loans” branding with a high-profile event that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees and millions of viewers nationwide.

Its Lightning Loans solution can deliver decisions in as little as 30 minutes, with funding of up to $175,000 in as fast as two hours. Larger loans of up to $250,000 can also be assessed and funded in as quickly as 24 hours, supported by OnDeck’s proprietary KOALA Score lending model, which the lender says is among the most predictive on the market.

The sponsorship highlights OnDeck’s push to connect directly with its core customer base – small businesses and sole traders – while showcasing its fast lending turnaround.

Speed on and off the track

An estimated 259,400 fans attended last year’s Adelaide Grand Final, with millions more tuning in via broadcast and digital channels. The partnership ensures strong visibility for OnDeck, including trackside signage and broadcast integration.

The Adelaide Parklands Street Circuit is known for its blistering pace, with the current lap record of 1:18.6763 set by Chaz Mostert in 2022. OnDeck says its lending matches that speed, with a median time to loan approval now 65 minutes for loans up to $175,000.

CEO Cameron Poolman (pictured above) said the partnership is a natural fit.

“We are excited to align with one of the country’s most iconic motorsport events,” Poolman said in an announcement.
“As a small business lender, we know the value of putting our pedal to the metal. The bp Adelaide Grand Final is the perfect backdrop to showcase the speed and simplicity of OnDeck’s lending products including our Lightning Loans.”

He added that the needs of businesses mirror the pace of racing.

“Much like motorsport competitors, small businesses need to be able to move fast and pivot swiftly to seize competitive advantages,” Poolman said. “OnDeck delivers the capital small businesses need, when they need it, to turn opportunities into winning leads.”

“Perfect alignment” of energy and drive

The South Australian Motor Sport Board welcomed the partnership, noting its strong brand fit.

“We’re thrilled to welcome OnDeck to the bp Adelaide Grand Final,” Rebecca Lawson, commercial manager, said. “OnDeck’s focus of backing small businesses aligns perfectly with the energy and drive of our event, and we’re proud to be the platform for their biggest brand campaign yet.”

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final, running Nov. 27-30, will once again transform Adelaide’s streets into a motorsport and entertainment hub, providing OnDeck with a national launchpad for its biggest campaign to date.
