The Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has announced the finalists in its national-only categories for the 2026 MFAA Excellence Awards, highlighting the organisations and individuals working behind the scenes to strengthen the broking profession.
Recent MFAA figures show brokers now write 76.7% of new home loans, underscoring borrowers’ strong preference for broker advice and the importance of a robust industry framework.
Unveiled ahead of the association’s national conference, the national-only categories focus on contribution, leadership, and professionalism across the wider mortgage and finance ecosystem. They recognise aggregators, mortgage managers, mentors, professional development providers, support service firms, and leaders in diversity and inclusion – all of whom play a pivotal role in enabling brokers to deliver better outcomes for clients.
MFAA chief executive Anja Pannek (pictured) said the finalists showcase the depth of capability across the industry’s support network.
“The national-only categories recognise the leadership, capability, innovation and commitment that help strengthen the foundations of our industry,” Pannek said.
While many excellence awards categories spotlight individual brokers and brokerage businesses, the national-only awards highlight the infrastructure that underpins a sustainable broker channel. MFAA said the shortlisted organisations and programs are helping to build a strong, professional, and future-ready industry.
Pannek emphasised the breadth of this contribution, from training and business development to operational and technical services.
“From mentoring and education to aggregation, mortgage management, support services, and diversity and inclusion, these finalists play an important role in ensuring brokers are well supported, well equipped and able to continue delivering strong outcomes for their clients, businesses, and communities,” she said.
“Their contribution helps lift professional standards, build industry capability and support the long-term sustainability of our industry,” Pannek said.
The MFAA Excellence Awards span 26 categories covering brokers, broker businesses, lenders, and industry partners. The national-only categories announced this week recognise achievement at the highest level across seven awards, with submissions independently assessed and results verified by Hall Chadwick to ensure fairness and transparency.
National Awards winners will be revealed at the MFAA National Excellence Awards in Melbourne on 22 July, following the 2026 MFAA National Conference. The full list of national finalists is available via the MFAA Excellence Awards website.
